Chris Robinson Brotherhood, 5/6/12

I was pretty excited to see Chris Robinson’s “new” band, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, at Beale Street Music Festival…and then I found out that they were playing at the same time as The Head and the Heart.

So, I made the command decision to hustle over to CRB, shoot their set, see a few songs, and then head back to THATH. Tough call, but in the end, it seemed to be the right one.

It’s clear CRB is a tight band. Chris Robinson doesn’t half-ass anything, and he’s got a great group of players. I enjoyed the two or three songs I heard, but at the end of the time I had to shoot, I was jonesing for THATH, so I ran back over to their stage. Of course, as fate would have it, they had about 15 minutes of technical difficulties so I could have seen a lot more of CRB.

Oh well.
